Pentagon Exposed For Misappropriating Pandemic Funds

The Pentagon redirected most of its $1 billion in pandemic funding to defense contractors who exchanged the money for jet engine parts, body armor, dress uniforms and other military needs, The Washington Post reported on Tuesday.

The CARES Act passed by Congress in March granted the Department of Defense $1 billion to both prevent and get ready to respond to the coronavirus, but the Post reported that in the weeks that followed, hundreds of millions of the taxpayer money was instead utilized to obtain military supplies.

2nd Wave? CCP Seen Destroying Food And Loading Thousands Of Beijing Residents On Busses For Quarantine

The BBC’s correspondent in China has warned that the communist government may be in the midst of a second coronavirus cover up, as a massive police and medical response to a new cluster in Beijing doesn’t tally with the reported number of cases.

The Chinese government has locked down the capital city, instituted travel bans, and is rounding up residents, putting them on buses and placing them in quarantine:

The footage was shot by activist Jennifer Zeng, who claims that seven hotels in the city were requisitioned by the government to be used as quarantine sites.

However, Beijing only reported 27 new infections yesterday, and 106 in the past five days, prompting many to wonder, just what the hell is going on here.

More footage shows hundreds of people lining up outside Youan hospital in Beijing for virus screening:

Massive amounts of fruit and vegetables have been discarded after Beijing shut down Xinfadi wholesale market:

Earlier in the week huge amounts of police, with no regard for social distancing were deployed to the market:

The BBC’s Stephen McDonell noted that the Chinese government is either being “super cautious”, or they are again not giving accurate figures on the new infection rate.

Owners of the market that was shut down in Beijing are reportedly claiming that the ‘more infectious’ strain of the virus came from Europe via some dodgy salmon, however the Chinese Centre for Disease has said there is no evidence to support the claims.

Bill Gates Negotiated $100 Billion Contact Tracing Deal With Democrat Congress Sponsor of H.R. 6666 Six Months BEFORE Coronavirus Pandemic Was Rolled Out

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation helped negotiate who would score a $100 Billion government-backed contact tracing contract in August 2019 — six months before the ‘pandemic’ arrived in the United States and four months before it swept through China.

Listen here:

The shocking revelations were unveiled on the Thomas Paine Podcast by the two investigators who blew the whistle on the massive Clinton Foundation tax fraud during a Congressional hearing in 2018. John Moynihan and Larry Doyle testified in Congress, detailing the fraud and schemes utilized by the Clinton’s to avoid paying up to $2.5 BILLION in federal taxes.

The investigative duo, in their first interview since that bombshell Congressional testimony, revealed to Paine that representatives from the Gates Foundation met with U.S. Congressman Bobby L. Rush at a sit down in Rwanda, East Africa in mid August 2019 to hash out who would score the windfall from a government contact tracing program. And just last month — nine months after the meetings with the Gates Foundation in Rwanda —  Rush, a Democrat from Illinois, introduced the $100 BILLION H.R. 6666, the COVID-19 Testing, Reaching and Contacting Everyone (TRACE) Act.

Rush’s bill would establish a program run by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for national coronavirus testing and contact tracing.

Paine has since learned Congressman Rush traveled to Rwanda with his spouse from August 12th to 19th, 2019 to take part in talks and a week-long event underwritten by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund.

But how can you negotiate the byproducts of monitoring a pandemic six to seven months before the outbreak of the virus even happens?

Infuriating: We May Have Shut Down The Country For Nothing!

Dr. Anthony Stephen Fauci, controversial member of the Trump Administration’s White House Coronavirus Pandemic Task Force

In a new report, the World Health Organization announced that asymptomatic carriers of the coronavirus “rarely” spread the virus to others. If this is true, we just shut down the nation and drove our economy into a recession for nothing.

Like many others, I supported the initial shutdowns because I was worried that we knew too little about the coronavirus and who was spreading it, and we needed to prevent our healthcare system from being overrun. Our health experts warned us that COVID-19 spread quickly and often un-noticeably, through carriers who might not show symptoms for weeks, or perhaps never at all. Add this to a total lack of mass testing, and a temporary nationwide quarantine made sense.

But now, the entire premise of the shutdown is being questioned.

“From the data we have, it still seems to be rare that an asymptomatic person actually transmits onward to a secondary individual,” Dr. Maria Van Kerkhove, head of the WHO’s emerging diseases and zoonosis unit, said, according to CNBC. “It’s very rare.”

It’s difficult to put into words how infuriating this discovery is. If asymptomatic carriers aren’t the problem, we could easily have localized our response to the coronavirus by asking only those with symptoms to stay home and quarantining hot-spot areas where the spread was out of control. Instead, we adopted a one-size-fits-all approach because we were acting under the presumption that any person at any time could be spreading it to just about anyone.

Granted, the WHO hasn’t exactly proven itself as a reputable source of information over the past few months, so I’d like to see other researchers confirm this finding. And, it’s unclear whether Kerkhove includes presymptomatic carriers within her definition of “asymptomatic.” But if this conclusion is indeed fact, I’ll be the first to admit that I was wrong for relying on the word of experts who clearly had no idea what they were talking about.

And it’s the experts who should be held accountable. Because, if true, this wasn’t just a mild mistake. It was a grievous error that cost this country hundreds of thousands of jobs and kept people from the things they need most: family, church, and community. We’ll be wrestling with the consequences of this shutdown for a long time to come, and now, we must do so knowing that it might have been for nothing.

Democratic States Deploy Greta Thunberg Drones To Lecture People Who Go Outside

U.S.—Several Democrat-controlled states have released new Greta Thunberg surveillance drones into the wild to lecture people who go outside.

The drones include a camera to catch people going outside and a screen playing a Greta Thunberg lecture. They fly along beaches and hover over parks, shouting and chasing off people who try to have a little fun or live without fear.

“How dare you! You are robbing me of my dreams and my childhood!”

one drone shouted at a couple hanging out on a California beach, though they were hundreds of feet away from anyone else.

“You have stolen everything from me! EVERYTHING!”

Some models of the drones are also equipped with tasers that shock people and chase them back into their homes while Greta warns about global warming, coronavirus fears, and the need to submit to the coming one-world government.

“I am an expert! Fear me! Listen to me about everything!”

The number of drones being shot out of the sky has gone way up in most of these states, except in California where you can’t buy guns and ammo.

Los Angeles Coronavirus Infections 40 Times Greater Than Known Cases, Antibody Tests Suggest

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Some 4.1% of adults tested positive for coronavirus antibodies in a study of Los Angeles County residents, health officials said on Monday, suggesting the rate of infection may be 40 times higher than the number of confirmed cases.

The serology tests, conducted by University of Southern California researchers on 863 people indicate the death rate from the pandemic could be lower than previously thought but also that the respiratory illness may be being spread more widely by people who show no symptoms.

“We haven’t known the true extent of COVID-19 infections in our community because we have only tested people with symptoms and the availability of tests has been limited,” Neeraj Sood, a professor of public policy at USC and lead researcher on the study.

“The estimates also suggest that we might have to recalibrate disease prediction models and rethink public health strategies,” Sood said.

At least 17 additional fatalities were recorded in Los Angeles County on Monday, bringing the total to 600, with more than 12,300 positive cases, according to a Reuters tally. The county is home to roughly 8 million people.

The Los Angeles County results were announced as antibody tests come under increasing scrutiny over a high number of false positives reported in the kits.

A similar study conducted in Santa Clara County last week by a Stanford University researcher has been criticized over its methodology and sample size.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo on Sunday said health officials there would begin conducting statewide antibody testing of 3,000 people on Monday.

The antibody tests, using decades-old ELISA technology, do not always pick up early-stage infections but show whether a person had the virus in the past, even if the person was asymptomatic.

In comparison, the so called RT-PCR-technology swab tests used at drive-through stations and clinics across the country determine whether a person has the virus at that moment by looking for it in nose or throat secretions.

Both tests are seen as critical in the coronavirus fight, but antibody tests are seen as a relatively cheap, fast means to sort populations into risk groups and measure virus spread.

Questions remain about how long coronavirus immunity levels last and whether people who have antibodies could still be contagious, according to some infectious disease specialists.

Nationwide 41,790 deaths have been reported from COVID-19, with more than 772,000 confirmed cases, according to the Reuters tally.

Explosive Report: Wuhan Biolab Captured Bats From Caves Traced To COVID-19 Outbreak With U.S. Funding

Recent findings regarding the origin of COVID-19 continue to support our January reporting that the disease may have originated from the Wuhan Institute of Virology – which was experimenting with bat coronavirus found to be 96% genetically identical to COVID-19.

On Saturday, the Daily Mail added an important piece to the puzzle; the institute was experimenting on mammals captured over 1,000 miles away in Yunnan  which is particularly notable because genetic analysis of COVID-19’s genome has traced it to horseshoe bats found in Yunnan’s caves.

Horseshoe Bat

Also disturbing is that the lab had been operating in part on a $3.7 million grant from the US government.

The Mail on Sunday has learned that scientists there experimented on bats as part of a project funded by the US National Institutes of Health, which continues to licence the Wuhan laboratory to receive American money for experiments.

Results of the research were published in November 2017 under the heading: ‘Discovery of a rich gene pool of bat SARS-related coronaviruses provides new insights into the origin of SARS coronavirus.’

The exercise was summarised as: ‘Bats in a cave in Yunnan, China were captured and sampled for coronaviruses used for lab experiments. All sampling procedures were performed by veterinarians with approval from the Animal Ethics Committee of the Wuhan Institute of Virology.’ –Daily Mail

“Bat samplings were conducted ten times from April 2011 to October 2015 at different seasons in their natural habitat at a single location (cave) in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China. Bats were trapped and fecal swab samples were collected,” the paper continues.

In April, 2018, a similar study was published by the institute titled “fatal swine acute diarrhea syndrome caused by an HKU2-related coronavirus of bat origin,” which reveals “Following a 2016 bat-related coronavirus outbreak on Chinese pig farms, bats were captured in a cave and samples were taken. Experimenters grew the virus in a lab and injected it into three-day-old pigletsIntestinal samples from sick piglets were ground up and fed to other piglets as well.

According to the Mail, Senior Ministers can no longer rule out that the virus first spread to humans after leaking from a Wuhan laboratory.

It comes after this newspaper revealed last week that Ministers here now fear that the pandemic could have been caused by a virus leaking from the institute.

Senior Government sources said that while ‘the balance of scientific advice’ was still that the deadly virus was first transmitted to humans from a live animal market in Wuhan, an accident at the laboratory in the Chinese city was ‘no longer being discounted’.

According to one unverified claim, scientists at the institute could have become infected after being sprayed with blood containing the virus, and then passed it on to the local community. –Daily Mail

Meanwhile, Cao Bin, a soon-to-be-disappeared doctor at the Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital has highlighted research showing that 13 of the first 41 patients diagnosed in Wuhan had zero contact with the ‘wet market’ commonly described as ground zero for the outbreak. “It seems clear that the seafood market is not the only origin of the virus,” he said.

In response to news that the US was partially funding the institute, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-CA) said “I’m disgusted to learn that for years the US government has been funding dangerous and cruel animal experiments at the Wuhan Institute, which may have contributed to the global spread of coronavirus, and research at other labs in China that have virtually no oversight from US authorities.”

We’re sure the Daily Mail will be banned from Twitter any moment now.

Must See Documentary Tracks Down Origin Of Wuhan Coronavirus

Watch this powerful production while it’s still available online.

The CCP virus, which originated from China, has rampaged through the world and caused more than 80,000 deaths, infecting at least 1.4 million through early April, 2020. However, the true number of deaths and infections will always remain unknown due to the under reporting of cases from mainland China.

In the new documentary presented by The Epoch Times and NTD, Epoch Times investigative reporter Joshua Philipp takes an in-depth look at the progression of the pandemic from January to April and leads us on a journey of discovery to bring the truth behind the matter to light.

From the Huanan Seafood Market in Hubei Province to the scandals at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, from long-running experiments on viruses to military takeovers, suspicious activities arise from every corner. Through vigorous investigations and the piecing together of hidden information, the documentary will unearth a more complete understanding of the situation surrounding the rise of this pandemic. Suspicions uncovered from official reports and publicly available information also sprouted more questions, leading to surprising findings and inquiries.

Multiple top experts also share their intel and opinions in this groundbreaking film.

Official Raises Alarm On Inflated COVID-19 Deaths

Alleged document says it’s ‘appropriate’ to link cause of death to coronavirus despite victim never being tested.

A Minnesota official is raising alarm that he’s been told it’s ‘appropriate’ to put on people’s death certificate that they died of COVID-19, despite the victim never being tested for it.

Scott Jensen, a Republican member of the state’s senate and also a physician, told local media he got the message from the Minnesota Department of Health, according to a surfaced Instagram video.

https://www.instagram.com/tv/B-uoASGAtp0/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

Twitter mirror of interview:

“Last Friday I received a seven-page document that sort of told me that if I have an 86-year-old patient that had pneumonia but was never tested for COVID-19,” said Jensen. “But sometime after, she came down with pneumonia, we learn she had been exposed to her son (who had no symptoms but later on was diagnosed with COVID-19) it would be appropriate to diagnose on the [86-year-old’s] death certificate ‘COVID-19.’” said Jensen.

Jensen assured the interviewer he would do no such thing.

“Now, we have not done that,” said Jensen. “If someone has pneumonia in the middle of a flu epidemic, and I don’t have a test on influenza, I don’t diagnose influenza on the death certificate.”

“I will say, ‘this elderly patient died of pneumonia.’”

Jensen added that a colleague of his confirmed the practice was unprecedented for their field.

“We’ve always been told you always put down just facts [on death certificates], you don’t put down any probabilities, you don’t put any presumptions down.”

When asked to speculate why officials would want to skew the deaths related to COVID-19, Jensen said:

“Well, fear is a great way to control people, and I worry about that.”

SHOCKING! Historian exposes ‘history of positive checks ‘ against those undesirable to the elite via diseases, wars, disasters, famines and genocides…

Depression Strikes America, Looting Begins, Panic Searching “Buy Ammo” Hits Record

With a labor market in freefall, ten million Americans have lost their jobs in two weeks. CNN reported Thursday afternoon that stimulus checks for households could take up to 20 weeks, which is creating a perfect storm of possible social unrest.

The Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies recently warned that a “social bomb could explode at any moment” over Western cities. That is because the evolution of the pandemic, which has crashed the American economy into a depression, could result in social unraveling in major metros, specifically in low-income areas.

ZeroHedge noted in the last several weeks that Americans are panic hoarding guns as the fear of social unrest could be imminent. President Trump signed an executive order last Friday that allows for up to one million National Guard and reservists to be called up to fight the virus or be used to maintain social order.

With lock downs across the country, the National Guard has been deployed across many states. Here are some sights from Baltimore:

Signs of social unrest are already starting to develop this week. Law enforcement agencies in South Carolina and California have charged people with looting businesses during the shutdowns, reported The Sun

Police in Santa Cruz, California, arrested five people who were robbing businesses in the city, despite a “shelter-in-place” public health order enforced by the state government.

In South Carolina, police arrested two men as they attempted to raid a storage warehouse unit.

Many Americans recognize the writing on the wall of what could happen next, that is, the possibility of social unrest – and it makes sense why gun stores saw record sales across the country last month with weapons and ammo in short supply. Now Google searches for buying ammunition online are surging to a record high as America faces a new reality that a pandemic could trigger a social unraveling of the nation:

Search trend “buy ammo” hits the highest level ever across every US state:

Search trend “buy ammo online,” again another record level:

And with states closing gun stores and many places running out of weapons and bullets, people are now starting to print 3D guns at home.

Meanwhile…

The CDC Has Revealed Itself As A Threat To Public Health If Not Criminal Malfeasance

There is nothing happening other than COVID-19 . Nothing. I’ve looked. It’s COVID-19 all the way down. And whatever happens one day, the next day is even more incredible. So far, the hair-on-fire alarmists have a comfortable lead over the nay-saying cool hand Lukes, probably warranted, although reliable numbers are largely missing or misrepresented.

On the up side, the virus has replaced global warming as the “root cause” of all our earthly troubles. On the down side, it’s getting a bit tedious being protected in ways last seen in occupied Minsk. It’s a real pandemic however, those in charge of nomenclature have declared it so.

As of Saturday, there is one death from Kung Flu every seventeen minutes in New York City. Of the 17,412 tests run by New York State on Friday, 44% of them (7,681) were positive. 15,000 new cases per day in America. The total for the U.S. was 101,707 Friday, doubling in three days. The U.S. death count crossed 2,100, more than double the level from two days ago.

Optimists make a case for a peak in May, pessimists for August. Given the determined incompetence of the government agencies involved, the latter appears more realistic.

John Stossel explains how the CDC has been an impediment to handling the COVID-19 epidemic, in his essay, The Red Tape Pandemic, at Patriot Post. An excerpt:

Coronavirus deaths leveled off in South Korea.

That’s because people in Korea could easily find out if they had the disease. There are hundreds of testing locations — even pop-up drive-thru testing centers.

Because Koreans got tested, Korean doctors knew who needed to be isolated and who didn’t. As a result, Korea limited the disease without mass quarantines and shortages.

… the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention made its own tests and insisted that people only use those CDC tests. But the CDC test often gave inaccurate results. Some early versions of the test couldn’t distinguish between coronavirus and water.

Taiwan, Singapore and Vietnam were also prepared and responded with massive testing.

James Copland also cites the CDC for preventing a timely and effective response to the epidemic in his essay, The Real-Life Costs of Bad Regulation, at City Journal. An excerpt:

By aggressive testing, South Korea was able to trace viral spread and contain it. Without it, the U.S. was left with little choice but the draconian measures that have shut down much of American life.

… the CDC’s in-house testing design was flawed, thus compromising early testing results. Mistakes happen, but the impact of the test-design flaw was much greater than it should have been—owing to the U.S. bureaucracy’s tightly controlled process. Even had the CDC test worked perfectly, not nearly enough tests would have been available for wide-scale testing on the South Korean model.

… it’s hard not to believe that the U.S. agencies’ decision to micromanage all national testing for Covid-19 was fatally flawed.

The CDC has revealed itself as a threat to public health if not criminal malfeasance. They had one job. They didn’t perform. They kept others from performing. There is no excuse. As a thought experiment, imagine the doors of CDC headquarters had been welded shut and the utilities disconnected long ago. Would we be worse off ?

The emergency exposed missing stockpiles of N95 masks. Turns out they were drawn down a decade ago and not replaced. Apparently the funds were diverted to fight “the epidemic of racism and obesity”, another way diversity makes us stronger, doubtless.

“After the 2009 H1N1 epidemic, the Obama administration, despite warnings, never bothered to replenish stockpiles of N95”.

That these outrages are inevitable doesn’t make them excusable. The consequences have been substantial. This is from the New York Post. It’s not about some tottering clinic on the upper Amazon, it’s about Mount Sinai West in Manhattan:

Worker at NYC hospital where nurses wear trash bags as protection dies from coronavirus … were using the same PPE between infected and non-infected patients. “We had to reuse our masks, gowns and the [face] shield,” one nurse said. “We were told, ‘You get one for the entire time until this is over.’”

The outbreak overwhelmed New York City in just a few days. ProPublica reports rank incompetence from the beginning.

The Storm

The Georgia Medical College study determines the mechanics of how baking soda manages all of the wonderful things it does despite its efficacy not being heralded by the “orthodox” medical industry.

Their research discovered the spleen’s role in mitigating inflammation beyond raising acidic pH levels to higher alkaline levels, which is a recognized attribute of baking soda even in mainstream medicine.

The spleen creates macrophages, large white blood cells that clear cellular and microbial debris, and lymphocytes or killer cells that go after bacterial and viral infections. This is an aspect of the immune system, which if unnecessarily overstimulated, creates chronic inflammation

The Georgia Medical College researchers observed that when rats or healthy people drink a solution of small amounts of sodium bicarbonate it ironically becomes a trigger for the stomach to make more acid to digest the next meal.

Regarding the inflammation/autoimmune disease link, after drinking water with baking soda for two weeks, the population of macrophages shifted from those that promote inflammation, (M1), to those that reduce it (M2).

The researchers became aware that the little-studied mesothelial cells sitting on the spleen receive cholinergic messages telling the fist-sized organ that there’s no need to mount a protective immune response.

This eliminates an unnecessary inflammatory response, which may become an endless immune response feedback loop leading to a cytokine storm, which can be fatal, or chronic inflammation, the precursor to almost all autoimmune diseases.

Poll: 100% Of Americans Expect To Get COVID-19

A new survey has discovered that every single American is convinced they will get the coronavirus, highlighting just how entrenched the message about the crisis has become in the US.

The poll by Survey USA finds that 100 percent of respondents said yes to the question “Based on what you know at this hour, what would you say that the chances are that you, yourself, will get sick from the Coronavirus?”

The survey was conducted last week, just as the peak of the panic was hitting. It also found that 21 percent of Americans say their daily life has “been turned upside down” by the virus, which originated in China.

A further 42 percent say it has “changed noticeably”, while 31 percent say it has “been impacted only slightly”.

Six percent say life has “not been impacted at all,” although that has probably changed by now.

Interestingly, only five percent of respondents said that they personally know someone who has been officially diagnosed with the virus, while an overwhelming 92 percent say they don’t.

When asked how concerned they are about the virus, and whether they will be able to get adequate medical care if they catch it, sixty-six percent of respondents over the age of 50 said that they are “extremely concerned” or “concerned”.

Seventy-one percent responded that think the worst is “still ahead,” while just 8 percent believe it is “behind us.”

Asked when they think thinks will return to “normal”, 17 percent pointed to June 2020, while ten percent said they expect the entire year to be lost to coronavirus, and are looking to 2021 for normal life to return.

This is in stark contrast to President Trump’s comments yesterday when he said he’d like to see things get back on track by Easter.

The Last Gasp, by Robert Gore

Mechanical ventilation

No one is more dangerous than the suicidal.

When you can’t love, you hate. When you can’t build, you destroy. When you’re ignored, you scream. When you can’t tell the truth, you lie. When you can’t reason, you panic. When no one will follow you out of admiration or respect, you compel. When you can’t live, you kill.

This is it, the last gasp of the psychopaths who express their contempt and hatred for humanity by trying to rule it. Compulsion, not voluntary and natural cooperation. Power, pull, and politics, not incentives, competition, honest production, and value-for-value trade. From each according to his virtue to each according to his depravity.

It can’t work. It won’t work. They know it. Do you?

As the totalitarian horror unfolds before our eyes, only the willfully blind will ignore it. Only those who refuse to think will fail to grasp its implications. Only the irretrievably corrupt will embrace it.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise. We were warned.

Now I will tell you the answer to my question. It is this. The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power. Not wealth or luxury or long life or happiness; only power, pure power. What pure power means you will understand presently. We are different from all the oligarchies of the past in that we know what we are doing. All the others, even those who resembled ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites. The German Nazis and Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives. They pretended, perhaps they even believed, that they had seized power unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just round the corner there lay a paradise where humans beings would be free and equal. We are not like that. We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. Now do you begin to understand me?

George Orwell, 1984, 1949

The worship of power has reached its apex even as its temples have come crashing down. During the twentieth century, the most bloodthirsty governments in history inflicted unprecedented carnage, destruction, and death. Some of them now have the capability to destroy life on earth. It was clear to those who looked and thought about what they saw that the only outcome of destruction and death would be destruction and death, including the destruction and death of those who inflicted it. The temples started crashing in 1945 with the fall of Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy and Tojo’s Japan and they’ve been crashing ever since. In 1991 it was the Soviet Union and its puppet regimes in Eastern Europe.

Now destruction and death loom before what’s called the Western democracies, built on the myth that societies can serve two masters: violence and freedom. The forces of the former will always see seek to destroy the latter. That is what has happened and is now accelerating towards either total annihilation or a rejection of hate and violence and a rebirth of freedom and the human spirit.

There is a residual innocence, a remnant of human decency, that asks: why would they want to destroy us, don’t they know they’ll be destroying themselves? If we owe to George Orwell our recognition that they want power solely for power’s sake, we owe to Ayn Rand the answer to that question and the recognition of a much more subtle point, one from which most people instinctively recoil.

He was suddenly seeing the motive that had directed all the actions of his life. It was not his incommunicable soul or his love for others or his social duty or any of the fraudulent sounds by which he had maintained his self-esteem: it was the lust to destroy whatever was living, for the sake of whatever was not. It was the urge to defy reality by the destruction of every living value, for the sake of proving to himself that he could exist in defiance of reality and would never have to be bound by any solid, immutable facts. A moment ago, he had been able to feel that he hated Galt above all men, that the hatred was proof of Galt’s evil, which he need define no further, that he wanted Galt to be destroyed for the sake of his own survival. Now he knew that he had wanted Galt’s destruction at the price of his own destruction to follow, he knew that he had never wanted to survive, he knew that it was Galt’s greatness he had wanted to torture and destroy—he was seeing it as greatness by his own admission, greatness by the only standard that existed, whether anyone chose to admit it or not: the greatness of a man who was master of reality in a manner no other had equaled. In the moment when he, James Taggart, had found himself facing the ultimatum: to accept reality or die, it was death his emotions had chosen, death rather than surrender to that realm of which Galt was so radiant a son. In the person of Galt—he knew—he had sought the destruction of all existence.

Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged, 1957

They want to rule you because they want to kill you because they want to kill existence and themselves. Hard as it may be to comprehend, don’t we know them by their works: by the slavery, carnage, and wars they’ve imposed, the freedoms they’ve robbed, the joy they’ve extinguished? Look at the world with eyes wide open. What do you see?

You see governments rushing to impose dictatorial restrictions on their citizens in the name of stopping a virus that as of March 23 had killed 17,156 people (Johns Hopkins University coronavirus website). In Franklin D. Roosevelt’s 1941 State of the Union address, he proposed four freedoms that people “everywhere in the world” ought to enjoy: freedom of speech and worship, and freedom from want and fear. In a perfect world those first two freedoms would be enjoyed everywhere and by everyone. The second two describe a fantasy world in which some are to be slaves keeping the rest free from want and fear. Want and fear are “solid, immutable facts,” and the battles against them have propelled much of humanity’s progress. They cannot be banished by political wish or decree, Roosevelt’s “defiance of reality” notwithstanding.

With the possible exceptions of the governments of South Korea, Taiwan, Russia, and Singapore, there is not a developed-country government that has not been subject to justified criticism of its handling of the coronavirus. As is always the case, if at first you don’t succeed, ask for a bigger budget. Having already failed in so many ways, governments are demanding yet more power to fail in more and bigger ways, and to deprive their citizens of the few rights they have left. They will lock us in our homes, restrict our travel, destroy our livelihoods, induce panic that empties shelves, and make two-bit politicians and bureaucrats potentates whose decrees cannot be challenged and who can throw us in jail for any infringements. This is for our own good? If you answered yes, reread the Orwell and Rand passages.

According to Johns Hopkins University’s coronavirus website, as of March 22, there were 63,927 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Italy, the worst hit county, with a population of approximately 60.5 million. The confirmed cases amount to a little over one-tenth of one percent (.1%) of the population and daily new cases may have peaked. The deaths as of March 22 are 6,077, or a little over one one-hundredth of one percent (.01%). Multiply those numbers by five: confirmed cases—319,635; deaths—30,385; and the cases are still a little over half of one percent (.5%), the deaths a little over five one-hundredths of 1 percent (.05%). If you apply Italy’s actual rates to the US population of 328.2 million and multiply by five, you would have 1.733 million confirmed cases and 164,833 deaths.

Now 164,833 deaths is a lot, but put that number in perspective. Keep in mind that cases and death rates for Italy were multiplied five times and Italy has been the hardest hit nation. The total cases per million people in Italy is over eight times that in the US, although that US rate relative to Italy’s will go up as more cases are confirmed and Italy’s cases peak. In the US, over 600,000 will die of heart disease and cancer will kill more than 350,000 this year (statistics from the CDC and National Cancer Institute). Those aren’t one-shot numbers, either, they happen every year. Yet, nobody’s talking about forcing anyone to do anything about those diseases, although many of the deaths reflect lifestyle choices that could be forcibly changed through compulsory exercise and dietary restrictions. People still have the freedom to die of heart disease and cancer.

Let’s put the numbers in terms of the elite’s favorite spectator sport: war. If someone had stood up after the first reading of the Declaration of Independence and said, “We can’t go to war against King George, it may cost us five one-hundredths of 1 percent of our population,” he would have been hung for treason. That, of course, was when a substantial portion of the population thought that the fight for freedom was worth waging. If someone had said at the onset of the Civil War, “We can’t preserve the union, end slavery, and subjugate the South, it will cost us five one-hundredths of 1 percent of the population,” Lincoln would have thrown him in jail. (The Civil War, America’s deadliest, killed at least 1.9 percent of the population, and Saint Abe threw lots of people in jail). A similar sentiment expressed as the US entered the Spanish-American War, WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, or any of the US’s other wars would have got the speaker at best ostracized, at worst imprisoned. The powers that be have always been willing to sacrifice other people’s lives and freedoms for their favorite cause and always will be. Damn the percentages, full speed ahead!

So now we’re supposed to believe that the powers are regretfully eliminating what’s left of our freedoms and destroying our economy to protect us from this scourge that might kill five one-hundredths of 1 percent of our population? The notion is idiotic on its face, and could only work on a docile, emasculated, and brain-dead populace who yearns for the sterile safety of a rubber room, straight jacket, and ball gag, removed three times a day when the nice nurse spoons them their gruel. They’ll be free of want and fear…and everything else.

The powers want absolute power, period. Their panic and police states are designed to instill and further the want and fear they say they deplore. Their stocks in trade are want and fear; they’d never eliminate them even if they could. All of the dictatorial restrictions are based on projections, not actual reality observed anywhere on the planet. They tried the projection trick with global warming, but they relented a bit when people started ignoring, or worse, mocking Greta Thunberg’s hysterical rants. First-year law students are told when they don’t have the facts, pound on the law, when they don’t have the law, pound on the facts, and when they don’t have either the facts or the law, pound on the table. Neither coronavirus or global warming have the facts or the law (yet, but they are getting there)—pound on the projections.

Want and fear kill people. Killing people has always been the power’s desire and is no longer secret. Like James Taggart, they particularly want to kill those masters of reality, the John Galts who actually reduce want and fear: the builders, the innovators, the doers, the bold, the farsighted, the scientists, the technologists, the entrepreneurs, the savers, the investors, and all of the other creators who have advanced the human race notwithstanding the powers, who have contributed nothing but the hindrances and obstacles.

Their “cure” for the coronavirus will be far deadlier than the disease. The quarantines and lockdowns will bring the world to a standstill—that’s the point. It was the point of the government’s Directive Number 10-289 in Atlas Shrugged, derisively named “The moratorium on brains” by the novel’s heroes. They want you to die, and yes that will lead to their own deaths and yes they know it, although like Taggart they can’t admit it to themselves. But now you know it, too, they’re all but telling you. That they can no longer hide it is a sign of their weakness, not strength.

Give into fear, panic, and cowardice and they will achieve their objective. You will deserve what you get. This is the last gasp of a malignancy—the philosophy of fear, fraud, and force—among humanity that’s metastasized for millennia. It is dying. Do nothing to prolong its life and do everything you can to resist its acolytes. Fight with everything you’ve got to prevent them from destroying the human race.

Patrick Henry said, “Give me liberty or give me death.” Liberty is that precious.

Give me liberty and I’ll lick the doorknobs of the coronavirus ward and kiss everyone in it.

The $64 Virus Question

(Raconteur Report) A month ago I was worried we might have 10-20 cases of Kung Flu. Instead, we have nearly 20 deaths. That means those people got it up to a month ago, from other people who didn’t know they had it either.

So far, most of them are elderly, and or with other co-morbid conditions.

But sooner or later, a relatively healthy 40- or 50-year old with no predisposition is going to croak. Maybe a teacher. Or a school janitor or lunch lady. Then everyone will lose their shit.

The school will be closed. But that person will have infected 40-200 kids, who won’t be symptomatic, who will then be locked up at home to infect their whole families, and you’ll have a blossom of 1000 cases. Some of whom will still be going to work infected and asymptomatic, and give it to co-workers, who’ll give it to their kids, and so on, and so on.

That’s how a pandemic marches on wards.
And it will be everywhere.

Take a pair of ordinary dice. There are only 36 possible combinations (6×6). So the raw chance for any roll is a hair under 3% (2.77% for the anal retentive math geek crowd). If coronavirus only has a 3% chance at being transmitted, every time you’re out and about, you’re rolling the dice. Except you touch things 1000 times a day, and your face about 500 times. (We’ll forget about droplets, mucous membranes, and inhalation vectors from coughing and sneezing people for the moment). So, roll the dice every day, and see how long before snake eyes comes up. Remember those thousands of touches, and 500 times touching your face.

After rolling dice 164 times, your chance of getting snake eyes is 99% probable.

So being out and about, in a world becoming saturated with asymptomatic carriers, you’re not just likely to get Kung Flu, you’re going to get it .

For probably 80% of all persons, two weeks to a month of PITA. For some of them, they may not even know they have it! For 10-17%, you’re going to the hospital. But unless you’re dying, you aren’t getting in. And about 3 people out of every 100 are going to die from it.

If everybody in CA gets it, that’s up to 1.2M deaths. Leaving us with 38.8M swinging Richards afterwards. For Texas, it would be up to 870K dead, and 28M still there. Nationwide, up to 10M dead, and 320M still here.

That’s if mortality holds at 3%, and everyone gets it. Juggling those numbers around on the slide rule gets you any answer you want.

Bad for the 10M dead, and the 20-50M hospitalized/laid out, but that’s not the catastrophe, per se.

The real problem is, the only way to stop this is to send everyone – everyone – home, until 30 days after the last case gets well or dies. Even the idiots among TPTB will figure this out, after exhausting all other half-assed options (just like in China).

If you do nothing, you lose 10M outright, and 50M who can’t work for months, and 100M more out for up to a month, but not all at once.

That’s the problem. Either of those options screws the economy like a $2 hooker, which is why the stock market is in free fall, why Italy and China have thrown in the towel, and why Korea and the rest of Europe probably will too, before we figure it out.

And until you self-quarantine, and don’t pop positive in the next month, you won’t know you don’t have it already either.

So the $64 Questions is, how long can you miss work, school etc., and how much money, water, food, medicine, and other necessities do you have, to stay home for what may become a mandatory extended quarantine? Will you have a job to go back to when it’s over? Will anyone?

We’ll leave the discussion of how you hold a valid general election for the President, 1/3 of the Senate, and the entire Congress amidst this sort of thing, for another time.

Local observation:

I note for informational purposes that the local bookseller, B and N, is suddenly light on disaster/survival/preparedness books, which had formerly just been gathering dust, and is now missing every volume on first aid. Because I check those aisles 2-3X/week, and probably know them better than store staff.

Some people are getting edjumicated, apparently.

—————–

Also, over at WRSA, one of the He’s-who-shall-not-be-named observed accurately that contrary to all dystopian fiction, the stores remain open and unburnt, rather than the popular “stripped to the walls in 48-72 hours”.

Allow me to respond:

Food isn’t coming here from China (unlike N95 masks), the trucks are still running, and you’re still free to travel, and not under draconian quarantine.
Yet.

So there isn’t any national emergency, for the moment.
{cf. 1940: Phony War. Compare and contrast with Dunkirk, and the Battle of Britain, a few months later.}

Once you can’t go out, it won’t matter what’s on the shelf. The average person and family has three days’ food at home. (If you have more, by definition, you’re above average, just like the kids at Lake Wobegone. That also means somewhere there’s some jackass who has less than three days on hand.)

So, how long do store shelves stay stocked (and not gloriously aflame) when the trucks aren’t rolling, and Trayvon Diversity and his posse go emergency shopping after midnight, with a brick and a machete?

And what happens when people who depend on prescriptions, made from precursors that aren’t coming from China, and haven’t been for the last month or two, start getting shorted on their Rx meds, esp. the ones that
a) keep them alive, or
b) keep them sane and functional?

Just curious.
Feel free to extrapolate at your own leisure, as you see fit, considering those new data points.

I’m out in the boonies, over 50 miles from the nearest town. Yesterday a car load of people including a sniveling brat from Washington state came though the gas station where I was fueling up. The kid had what appeared to be a cold. I watched them touch everything. We don’t need airports to spread this.
Everyone is oblivious.
Yet the mainstream media, the CDC, and bloviating pundits who ought to know better are all telling us that it’s not much worse than the flu. And that if we’re preparing, we’re e-e-evil hoarders.

I stand by what I’ve done-I “panicked” early and got all the things I didn’t have, or didn’t have enough of, and stacked them away. If I have to, I can dive in the hole and pull it in after me and be good. Except for the issue of Mrs. Freeholder, who is still stuck in the elementary school disease factory until the fools figure out it needed to close 2 weeks ago. But hey, they been talking to the county and state health goobers, and it’s all good. She got that call yesterday and came rushing to me with her phone on speaker and held out. “Listen to this!”

Yeah, we’re going to be screwed if these people don’t un-eff themselves RFN.

It appears that RdRP, RNA dependent RNA polimerase is inhibited competitively by zinc in the cytoplasm of mamalian cells. This limits the ability of some +rna viruses to initiate their propagation cascade. Corona viruses have been shown in general to exhibit this weakness. Whether or not the honey badger virus can be defeated this way remains to be seen. Zn is cheap CT scans not so much. Pound of prevention you know.

Anonymous,

Nobody is prepared, the least of all hospitals. In my 10 years in the ED only one thing was ever certain and that was that we were going to run out of beds…on a usual Tuesday night. All the admitted patients, including ICU patients, then languished downstairs with us. That means that the nurse taking care of the unit patient was also working up a fresh chest pain or stroke alert while also getting the baby from the hood with a fever that should’ve been given Tylenol at home (“but that s*** expensive”. Mom has hair did, fresh nails and the newest iPhone). As far as supplies go after the hurricane in PR we started running out of normal saline. That was JUST Puerto Rico. China makes almost ALL of our masks. My own facility is rationing PPE as we speak (no coveralls, no booties-just a gown) and we have roughly 1 1/2 boxes of N95 masks left and I’m pretty sure they walked out.

Everyone needs to know that in the VERY near future are going to lose the ability to go to the hospital as we have always done. On any normal day our just-on time barebones low-stock medical system is stretched to the brink. Add this BS to it and that level of care is soon going to go away and we will truly be on our own.

A Second LAX Screener Tests Positive For The Coronavirus

How many people do you think an LAX screener makes contact with every day?
Keep telling yourself ‘mild cases, it’s just a cold, I’m fine’

A second LAX worker has tested positive for coronavirus, officials said Friday.

Few details were available about the worker, but Los Angeles County health officials said they still don’t see signs of community spread.

“We know that as we see increased cases there’s greater concern in some of our communities as to what this means … for the general public, your risk still remains low, though this is the time you make sure you’re practicing good public health hygiene,” said county health director Barbara Ferrer.

The first LAX worker was confirmed as having the virus Tuesday and so far has a mild case and has been isolated, the sources said. Family members of the person also have been tested.

Since then, officials have been testing other workers

In a statement, the Department of Homeland Security described the worker as a medical screener who “wore all the correct protective equipment and took necessary protections on the job.”

“As soon as the individual began to feel sick, they self-quarantined, saw a physician, and reported to the appropriate authorities and officials,” a DHS spokesperson said in the statement.

Coronavirus May Have Spread in U.S. for Weeks, Gene Sequencing Suggests

(Sheri Fink) Two cases detected weeks apart in Washington State had genetic links, suggesting that many more people in the area may be infected.

Researchers who have examined the genomes of two coronavirus infections in Washington State say the similarities between the cases suggest that the virus may have been spreading in the state for weeks.

Panic Hoarding Begins Across America

Update (March 1): Increasing fear of a Covid-19 outbreak has forced many Americans out of their homes and millennials from their parents’ basements to panic buy food at Costco stores across the country this weekend:

And apparently everyone has different priorities ahead of a possible pandemic. As one person loaded up on “condoms and a big jar of coconut oil.”

The same long lines that we’ve seen in China, Japan, South Korea, and across the world as people panic buy food and health supplies have started in the US.

On Saturday, the US Surgeon General urged people to “stop buying masks,” saying on Twitter that they’re not effective in preventing the general public from catching coronavirus.

All done?

I have no problem with the Dr.’s C.V. and bona fides.
She has quite the resume for dealing with some aspects of coronavirus, and related questions about the burgeoning Kung Flu pandemic. And some good, solid, useful information on several aspects.

But she’s guilty of some rather important and significant misstatements.
I do not call them lies of omission, because I can’t ascribe motivation and intent to what she wrote.

Much of it is correct, as far as it goes.
But some key points are rather woefully lacking in Reality.

¶ Nine:

“The government is currently screening people coming off of international flights from known risk zones, or coming across the border, and then diverting the people who need it to medical facilities that can handle it.”

1) The fact that they’re doing point-of-care one-time testing, on a disease that incubates for 2-14 days, and perhaps as many as 24 or 28, guarantees the spread of asymptomatic virus carriers into the country, to propagate it hither and yon widespread in a few days, to a couple of weeks. This is the bio-defense version of putting the entire defensive team on the line of scrimmage, and then looking shocked and dismayed when the other team passes over their heads for 3000 yards, and beats you 210-0. Your tax dollars at work.

Sorry Doc, I’m not feeling very de-stressed, fearless, or anxiety-free yet. Maybe you need to go back for some post-doc work on bedside manner and common sense. Just saying.

2) The natural consequence of #1, above is that in short order, there will be no more medical facilities that “can handle it”. We’ve covered this here. The internet moves fast; try and keep up.

¶ Ten:

“Yes, you should go out and replace basic supplies you’re out of, plus a little extra – not because society is about to break down, but because you might be stuck in the house for a week feeling like absolute trash and too bombed on cold medication to drive or operate anything more complex than a can opener and a microwave.”

3) Sorry, but after #2 becomes reality, “a week” of supplies isn’t going to cut it. And once health care goes down in a pandemic, FFS, society is, in fact, in the process of breaking down.
And then people won’t risk going to work, because they don’t want to get sick. And/or the CDC closes things down, like they’ve already said they will. Public facilities, schools, businesses. But I’m sure the police, fire department, EMS, water, power, gas, telephone service, radio, TV, trash collection, and whatever else you imagine, will be magically unaffected by this, because no one could possibly decide that staying home, healthy, with their families was more important than keeping your fantasies about how society will behave alive amidst a crisis unprecedented in a century or more. Your crystal ball is a bit hazy, isn’t it?

¶ Eleven

“In extreme situations, schools or workplaces may close under the guidance of local government or management – think snow days.”

4) Um, no. Think snow months. Plural. If TPTB close schools and businesses, over a disease that can incubate for two weeks, perhaps a month, no one’s going to call off a day or three. They’re going to call it off until a month after the last recorded case. Like you do if you got your medical diploma from someplace other than online. Otherwise, you’re just ringing the dinner bell for serial waves of pandemic, and guaranteeing re-infection by some, which at last report, has a wee tendency to cause sudden cardiac arrest and death.
Now I’m really not feeling fearless and anxiety-free at all. Are you sure you’re a real doctor?

5) And snow months means that “a week” of extra supplies, once again, isn’t going to cut it. So maybe start talking about two, three, or six months. Maybe all year. Which, as people watch their 401Ks melt down daily, may bring on even more anxiety among the really susceptible-to-this-virus retirees. Don’tcha think???

¶ Twelve

“Again, this is not Hollywood-style “civil unrest” with people running, screaming, and looting while armed officers break up any groups larger than three…”

6) Oh, really??
Ever been to Chicagostan? Baltimoronia? Detroitistan? District of Criminals? St. Louis? Philly? Newark? South Central L.A.? Oakland? Anywhere, really.
I mean, FFS, Chicago has more shooting casualties every year than the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan ever did, even at the heights of those conflicts (a truth which really pisses OIF/OEF vets off royally when I point that out), and the people there don’t even have Interceptor vests, MRAPs, M-4 rifles, close air support, or any supporting fires, most days.

Now, doc, have you ever been there (for any value of there) when they’re pissed off?
Like when the market’s closed.
Not the stock market; I mean the supermarket. Or supermarkets, plural.

Or when their EBT cards haven’t been reloaded, because non-essential employees (and a lot of more essential ones) aren’t coming to work to do that?
Didja figure they’d quietly starve in silence?
Or do you think they might go “shopping”, with bricks, torches, and machetes?

What about when the police are running things at 1/2 or 1/3 staff?
How do you see civil unrest under those conditions, doc? Have we gotten maybe just a wee bit out of your depth of expertise here? Just asking. Nothing personal.

I’ve been in two, count ’em, two, city-wide riots. And those were little ones, compared to what we’d see in a months-long pandemic with societal degradation. Both of them affected Hollywood directly, BTW. So maybe a bit less pooh-poohing, and a little more shut-up-and-give-your-eyes-and-ears-a-chance-when-you-don’t-know-WTF-you’re-talking-about, if you catch my drift.

… how to avoid only facing hard decisions.

Whistleblower Claims ‘Corrupt Cover-Up’ Of Dangerous American Coronavirus Quarantines

A complaint filed with Health and Human Services (HHS) and promptly leaked to the New York Times alleges that federal health employees interacted with Americans quarantined for possible coronavirus exposure without proper medical training or protective gear, and that health agency leaders engaged in a ‘corrupt cover-up‘ when staff members complained, according to the Times.

First CCP-Virus Case Of Unknown Origin Confirmed In California

After Maintaining the ‘Risk Is Low’ Narrative, Canadian Minister Of Health Tells Canadians To Stockpile Food & Medicine

Trudeau Liberal government incompetence, mixed messages and obsession with political correctness has put Canadians at severe risk.

For weeks, the Trudeau Liberal government downplayed the Coronavirus epidemic, saying the risk was low.

The government even called ideas such as shutting down flights from China ‘fearmongering’ and ‘racism.’

In short, they made it clear there was no real problem, that the flights would continue, that the borders would remain open, and protective measures would be limited.

But now, with no transition whatsoever, they’re switching to full on panic-mode, telling us to prepare for a pandemic.

“The Liberal government kept telling us not to worry about the Coronavirus, repeating ‘the risk was low.’ Then, without any transition whatsoever, they simply switched to saying we should prepare for a pandemic. A stunning level of incompetence, putting Canadian lives at risk.”

And now, Patty Hadju is escalating the warning, telling Canadians to stockpile food and medicine, as reported by the Canadian Press:

“Health Minister Patty Hajdu is encouraging Canadians to stockpile food and medication in their homes in case they or a loved one should fall ill with the novel coronavirus, despite the relatively low risk of contracting the disease in Canada.

It’s good advice for any potential crisis from a viral outbreak to power outages, she said Wednesday.

“It’s good to be prepared because things can change quickly,” she said.

“It’s really about, first of all, making sure that you do have enough supplies so if someone in your family becomes ill, if you yourself become ill, that you have what you need to survive for a week or so without going outside.”

So, we’ve gone from “no threat,” to “stockpile food and medicine.”

What this means – and of course the government will never admit it, is that they blew the response from the beginning.

The right response to a potential pandemic is to overreact, assume the worst, limit travel, block access from places where the pandemic is spreading the worst, implement strict quarantine measures, and ensure that a virus-spreading tipping point is not reached.

Then, if that turns out to be an overreaction, at least the country is over-prepared, and measures can be slowly scaled back as appropriate.

Instead, the Trudeau Liberals did the opposite. They underreacted, they demonized those who wanted stronger measures, and they pretended everything was fine. Now that they are starting to realize their mistake, they are escalating the rhetoric, equivalent to shutting the barn door after the horses have already bolted.

This is a disgusting level of incompetence, and the price will paid by Canadians.

83 Being Monitored For Coronavirus In Long Island’s Nassau County, 8 Quarantined In Westchester: Live Updates

Two Of The Largest Riots In Recent Chinese History Occurred In Wuhan And Hong Kong Just Before Outbreak Of CCP-COVID-19

There are no coincidences in politics…

Thousands Protest Waste Incinerator Plans in China’s Wuhan (summer 2019)

Residents in the central Chinese city of Wuhan hold a street protest over plans to build a new waste incineration plant.

Residents in the central Chinese city of Wuhan hold a street protest over plans to build a new waste incineration plant.

Authorities in the central Chinese city of Wuhan have detained around 20 people in a crackdown this week on a mass street protest at plans to build a new waste incineration plant, RFA has learned.

Amid chants of “Give us back our clean environment!”, an estimated 10,000 residents from apartments near the Yangluo industrial development area in Wuhan’s Xinzhou district turned out against the plan on Tuesday and Wednesday, local residents said.

The local government dispatched around 1,000 riot police to disperse the crowd, with large numbers of injuries reported, they said.

Many of the arrests were of social media users for posting or forwarding information about the protests via the closely controlled platform WeChat.

A Xinzhou resident surnamed Xu said the protest was a spontaneous action by local people, who are angry that local officials are ignoring their health concerns.

“The site was originally a landfill,” Xu said. “The air quality is already very poor in Yangluo and the groundwater has been polluted for more than a decade.”

“Now they say they have to build a waste incineration power plant, which is a threat to our lives,” he said.

The waste incinerator plan comes after the Chenjiachong landfill site in Xinzhou exceeded its capacity just five years after its opening in 2007.

Local residents — who number around 400,000 — said they first learned of the renewed incinerator plan in mid-June, and immediately organized a petition against it. The government responded by having around 20 of the petitioners detained.

This week, the authorities blocked the mobile phone signal, as well as sending in police to beat up and detain protesters. According to Xu, the government feared the Wuhan protesters would communicate with anti-extradition protests in Hong Kong.

A local resident surnamed Zhang said the Xinzhou district government had responded to the protests by saying that it would consult more widely with local people, and that the project won’t go ahead without the consent of the local community.

No faith in authorities

But Zhang said many local residents simply don’t believe this.

“They tried to start a project like this here before, and the people kicked up a huge fuss, and it was shelved,” Zhang said.

“But less than six months later, the old district governor was transferred away, and the new one reapplied for the project as soon as he took up his post.”

A resident who declined to be named said it was unacceptable to build a waste incinerator in a densely populated residential area.

“There are many ways in which this will have an impact on people’s lives: the air pollution, the harm to health, all of that,” the resident said.

“But what government really speaks up for the people? None of them do. If they did, then no garbage incinerators would be built in residential areas,” he said.

Last month, tens of thousands of residents of Yunfu city in the southern province of Guangdong also took to the streets to protest against plans for a waste incinerator in Mintang village.

Three days later, the government announced the project would be canceled at the selected site.

And on June 26, authorities in Xiantao city in the central province of Hubei announced they would initially shelve, and then cancel altogether, a similar project following mass protests by local residents.

Decades of breakneck economic growth have left China with a seriously degraded environment, with regular environmental protests emerging among the country’s middle class.

Previous attempts to build similar plants elsewhere across China have drawn widespread criticism over local government access to the huge potential profits linked to waste disposal projects.

It’s all laid out here in a fascinating interview with Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai, inventor of email who among many other things points out that heart of the global deep state operates within a one mile radius between Harvard and MIT…

The Cost Of Covid-19 Quarantine: Will You Be Financially Prepared?

(Daisy Luther) As the world tries frantically to contain a rapidly spreading outbreak of Covid-19, schools, public venues, tourist attractions, and workplaces are being closed in an attempt to keep even more people from contracting the illness. Quarantines and self-isolation protocols are also being instituted across the globe for those who may have been exposed.

Of course, everyone knows that millions of people in China have been in lockdown for more than a month. People are told to stay home, many businesses have ceased to operate, and Chinese New Year celebrations simply didn’t happen this year. China’s debts are all coming due now, at the worst possible time as the financial loss for the country has been astronomical. For example, car sales are down 92% and Lunar New Year celebrations and travel that usually earn a billion dollars were canceled.

While the numbers cited here are outrageously large, obviously, these losses aren’t only going to affect “the economy” and “the businesses.” They’re going to have devastating effects on normal folks who just want to go to work, pay their bills, and keep living their lives normally.

A great deal has been written about the economic hits on a global scale as well as the shortages we could soon expect as production in China grinds to a halt, but what about simply being able to pay your rent when your workplace or business is ordered to shut its doors?

Something nobody is really talking about is the financial hit that people will be taking during such closures. This is a very real concern, and for families who already live paycheck to paycheck, the loss of income could prove devastating.

How will containment efforts affect average folks financially?

The Rate Of Diamond Princess Infections Suggest Worldwide Infections Are Much Higher Than Official Reports

SummaryThe Diamond Princess cruise ship is the largest controlled COVID-19 coronavirus infected population outside of China

  • 20% of the ship were infected over three weeks
  • From this, it suggests the rate of official reported infections (largely in China) is likely too low
  • This corroborates well with what our models have been saying: official reported infections are likely too low
  • From our models, far more people have likely been infected, but the death rate is also (thankfully) coming in lower than expected – worse than the flu, but perhaps in-line or lower than SARS, and definitely not a death sentence
  • Two passengers died last night from the Diamond Princess (male 87 and female 84) after being airlifted from the ship to a hospital a week ago, which implies a 1-2% death rate
  • And 14 days might not be long enough to conclusively prevent COVID-19 transmission, from the Diamond Princess experience, although passengers have now been released

The rate of Diamond Princess infections suggest worldwide infections are likely much higher than official reports

Chinese Internet Users Document Law Enforcers’ Inhumanity During Coronavirus Lock Down

With no fear of cross contamination what so ever, looks exactly like the CCP is using the epidemic as cover to round up dissidents.

‘If you’re not in the party (CCP) you’re not on the team and they’ll make other plans for you’

(Angela Bright) As China’s Hubei Province remains under lockdown due to the coronavirus epidemic, residents are complaining that law enforcement personnel have been using harsh and unreasonable tactics that are reminiscent of the Cultural Revolution to control the public. Some of these incidents have been caught on video and shared on Chinese social media, sparking outrage among viewers.

To curb the spread of the coronavirus, large gatherings are forbidden. However, just playing a card game with your family at home to pass time can have serious repercussions.

A family of four in Anlu City, Hubei Province, was publicly humiliated and paraded through the streets by police on Feb. 14 for playing poker at home. The local police ordered them to publicly read out a “repentance” letter afterwards.

A video posted online shows the family standing in front of a government building, with a man holding a “repentance” letter and leading the other three family members in reading it word by word: “Our family of four played poker in our house this afternoon, which is in violation of the order not to gather or play poker during this emergency period. We were wrong!” After reading the statement, they were made to stand there for a long time as punishment before being allowed to go home.

Another family played mahjong, a Chinese board game, at their home in Xiaogan City when a group of law enforcement personnel barged into the house and threw the mahjong tiles to the floor. This angered the family’s son, and he threw some of the mahjong tiles back at the intruders. As a result, they held him back and slapped him several times. In the end, the mahjong table was smashed. The incident prompted the son to ask whether this meant that a family can’t even have meals together.

Many other cases have been posted of people being beaten or paraded through the streets in chains because they didn’t wear masks.

In one of these videos, police restrained a man who did not wear a mask while walking on the street, and told the person in charge of disinfection, “come disinfect him!”

The person then sprayed disinfectant on the man’s body and the ground adjacent to him.

In Xi’an City, someone’s pet dog was beaten to death by a coronavirus prevention personnel with the excuse that dogs shouldn’t be walked during the outbreak.

Many people vented their anger online, saying it reminded them of the political campaigns of the past.

“Paraded through the streets?” one internet user asked. “Such mental trauma can be fatal. How are these people going to live? It’s like the cracking down on landlords in the past! I heard from my mother that my grandmother’s family used to be paraded through the streets wearing tall hats. How evil this is!”

After the communists took control of China in 1949, they launched several political campaigns—from the 1950s through the 70s. People who were labeled as “bad elements” or “counter-revolutionaries” were denounced, forced to wear tall hats and paraded through the streets as a means of humiliation. Many committed suicide because they could not endure the mistreatment.

“Committing acts of violence in the name of epidemic prevention, and slapping people in the face—isn’t this going back to the Cultural Revolution when Red Guards acted violently?” another social media user asked.

“History has shown that the absence of rule of law is far more terrible than the contagion we are experiencing today,” another stated.

China Deploys 40 Mobile Incinerators To Wuhan: Report

While China has come under fire over claims that they are grossly under reporting coronavirus figures, Chinese media is reporting that 40 industrial incinerators have been deployed to Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak which has officially killed more than 2,000 people  – mostly in China.

The incinerators, typically used to dispose of animal carcasses, are now being used to handle ‘medical waste,’ according to NTDand relayed by the Daily Star. Sources quoted in the Chinese media reports have raised obvious questions as to whether they are (or will be) used to dispose of human remains.

According to the reports, the mobile incinerators are able to destroy up to five tons of waste per day – burning a load in as little as two seconds. The units are reportedly the size of a 20-foot standard shipping container and have a volume of 30 cubic meters – and are able to crush solid waste, incinerate it, and then ‘purify the smoke.’

The Chinese military is said to have tested the units in Golmud, Quinghai in January before they were sanctioned for use. Large trucks have been reportedly spotted transporting the incinerators into Wuhan.

Professor Ming Ju reportedly said he believes the cabins are “mobile incinerators” for bodies.

And meanwhile, Professor Qu Zan said the virus could not survive the 850 degree heat created by the furnace.

Wuhan locals reportedly have questions the need for such cabins as there is not a widespread infection of animals with the virus. –Daily Star

The coronavirus, known as COVID-19, has officially killed 2011 people and infected more than 75,000. As we have reported ad nauseam, however, the official count is likely to be much higher.

A MeSSaGe FRoM THe WHO…

A song by the rock group The Who about the facade one erects, or the pose one assumes, whether from pride, arrogance, insecurity or some other motive, in order to conceal his or her identity or essential self. The song lists various happenings, the pursuit or occurrence of which causes us to forget that we conceal ourselves as such.

People, especially in the West, just don’t get it yet. COVID-19 is the world changer, the reset of civilization. This bad little piece of manufactured bug is in the process of wiping out the whole Chinese economy. Because China is the start of 70-90% of the world’s supply chain, most countries’ economies and supplies are going to evaporate.

Ask yourself this:

1) What do I use every day/week/month that I cannot live without and has any part of its supply chain anchored in China?

Well, that ****’s going away. And, not for just a week, or even a few months. It’s going away for in all likelihood a couple of years at least.

2) What do I buy/eat if the local grocery stores are all closed? How long can I go without being able to shop at one?

A chain, they say, is only as strong as its weakest link. The supply chain that puts food in your local grocery store is built on so many supply chains that it would boggle your mind. Truck parts, refrigeration pumps, packaging machines, plastic wrap, the list goes on and on. All of it is going away.

3) How cheaply are you willing to work?

Figure out what you think your “price” is and then ask yourself why any manufacturer would produce anything from gasoline to chick pot pies? Because the moment they can no longer produce at a profit, they will shut down.

4) When you believe, rightly or wrong, that in leaving your home to work/shop for food could be a death sentence to not only you but to those you live with, and any of those people’s departure from the home could mean the same, what would you leave your house for?

This is the thought process that will paralyze all society. Once people realize that this beastie has a window of being asymptomatically infectious, (super spreaders), for up to 24 days, and that if you happen to get it and beat it, you have just as good a chance to catch it again, and that the second time it has much better odds of killing you than it did the first time. What are you leaving the house for again?

The folks just do not understand it yet. But they will soon.

Politically Active Billionaires Predicted Food Supply to Collapse after Outbreak

A 2015 George Soros-funded think tank predicted a 2020 breakdown of the global food supply following an outbreak — just as Bill Gates’ 2019 “event 201” simulated a global pandemic. Why are multiple billionaires speaking about outbreaks and food insecurity in 2020? Because Agenda 21/2030 isn’t just a name: it’s a war on all of us, and it has gone HOT.

Doctors Warn Of Even-Deadlier Coronavirus Reinfection Causing Sudden Heart Attacks

Doctors working front lines of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak have told Taiwan Times that it’s possible to become reinfected by the virus, leading to death from sudden heart failure in some cases.

Kowloon Walled City

It’s highly possible to get infected a second time. A few people recovered from the first time by their own immune system, but the meds they use are damaging their heart tissue, and when they get it the second time, the antibody doesn’t help but makes it worse, and they die a sudden death from heart failure,” reads a message forwarded to Taiwan News from a relative of one of the doctors living in the United Kingdom.

The source also said the virus has “outsmarted all of us,” as it can hide symptoms for up to 24 days. This assertion has been made independently elsewhere, with Chinese pulmonologist Zhong Nanshan (鍾南山) saying the average incubation period is three days, but it can take as little as one day and up to 24 days to develop symptoms.

Also, the source said that false negative tests for the virus are fairly common. “It can fool the test kit – there were cases that they found, the CT scan shows both lungs are fully infected but the test came back negative four times. The fifth test came back positive.” –Taiwan Times

The cytokine storm is best exemplified by severe lung infections, in which local inflammation spills over into the systemic circulation, producing systemic sepsis, as defined by persistent hypotension, hyper- or hypothermia, leukocytosis or leukopenia, and often thrombocytopenia.

In addition to lung infections, the cytokine storm is a consequence of severe infections in the gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, central nervous system, skin, joint spaces, and other sites. (Tisoncik, et. al, Into the Eye of the Cytokine Storm)(2012)

According to the 2012 study, “Cytokine storms are associated with a wide variety of infectious and noninfectious diseases and have even been the unfortunate consequence of attempts at therapeutic intervention.”

How do coronaviruses enter the body?

With SARS (sudden acute respiratory syndrome), another coronavirus, researchers discovered that one of the ways the disease attaches itself is through an enzyme known as ACE2, a ‘functional receptor’ produced in several organs (oral and nasal mucosa, nasopharynx, lung, stomach, small intestine, colon, skin, lymph nodes, thymus, bone marrow, spleen, liver, kidney, and brain).

ACE2 is also “abundantly present in humans in the epithelia of the lung and small intestine, which might provide possible routes of entry for the SARS-CoV,” while it was also observed “in arterial and venous endothelial cells and arterial smooth muscle cells” – which would include the heart.

This has led some to speculate that Asians, who have higher concentrations of ACE2 (per the 1000 genome project) may be affected to a greater degree than those of European ancestry, who produce the least of it – and have largely been the asymptomatic ‘super spreaders‘ such as Diamond Princess coronavirus victim Rebecca Frasure.

And so while more research on COVID-19 is urgently needed – we know that coronavirus can target ACE2 receptors, which are found in the cardiovascuar system. And we have seen evidence of both sudden collapses and neurological damage from footage pouring out of Wuhan, China.

If the virus can reinfect patients and cause cytokine storms and sudden death – possibly exacerbated by therapeutic intervention – treating the coronavirus which CDC director Dr. Robert Redfield says will become widespread throughout the United States ‘this year or next,’ it is vitally important to understand exactly how COVID-19 works, and how to treat it. That would require cooperation from China and a CDC team on the ground in the epicenter. For some unknown reason, however, China still refuses to grant US scientists access to ground zero.

The Coronavirus Outbreak Could Affect Availability and Cost of THESE Essential Products From China

(Daisy Luther) The effects of the Wuhan coronavirus could end up being far more widespread than the illness itself. It is already affecting China’s economy, potentially to the tune of $60 billion. Other predictions are even less optimistic, suggesting that if the outbreak isn’t rapidly contained, Chinese banks could face $6 trillion disaster.

And the fallout won’t stop with China. The United States and China are intimately linked economically. The coronavirus outbreak could directly affect our economy, as well as the availability of many essential products that are made in China.

Proof That the Coronavirus Is a Bioweapon and Its Final Purpose Is to Wipeout America

(Dave Hodges) I have wondered about how accurate the experts are with regard to the notion that the Coronavirus is a bio-weapon and its final target is America. The excerpts of the following two speeches made almost 14 years apart, by Communist Chinese leaders, leaves no doubt. Judge for yourself.

Speech to take over America December, 2005 by Comrade Chi Haotian –the Vice-Chairman of China’s Military Commission  (excerpt)

We the descendants of the Chinese nation are ENTITLED to the possession of the land!!! It is historical destiny that China and United States will come into unavoidable confrontation on a narrow path and fight. In the long run, the relationship of China and the United States is one of a life-and-death struggle.

Of course, right now it is not the time to openly break up with them yet. Our reform and opening to the outside world still rely on their capital and technology. We still need America. Therefore, we must do everything we can to promote our relationship with America, learn from America in all aspects and use America as an example to reconstruct our country.

Only by using special means to ‘clean up’ America will we be able to lead the Chinese people there. Only by using non-destructive weapons that can kill many people will we be able to reserve America for ourselves.

There has been rapid development of modern biological technology, and new bio weapons have been invented one after another. Of course we have not been idle; in the past years we have seized the opportunity to master weapons of this kind. We are capable of achieving our purpose of ‘cleaning up’ America all of a sudden. When Comrade Xiaoping was still with us, the Party Central committee had the perspicacity to make the right decision not to develop aircraft carrier groups and focused instead on developing lethal weapons that can eliminate mass populations of the enemy country.

Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe Advocates American Genocide with Bio-weapons (excerpt)

…When we decide to revitalize China based on the German model, we must not repeat the mistakes they made. Specifically, the following are the fundamental causes for the defeat of Germany and Japan: First, they had too many enemies all at once, as they did not adhere to the principle of eliminating enemies one at a time; second, they were too impetuous, lacking the patience and perseverance required for great accomplishments; third, when the time came for them to be ruthless, they turned out to be too soft, therefore leaving troubles that resurfaced later on. Let’s presume that back then Germany and Japan had been able to keep the United States neutral and had fought a protracted war step by step on the Soviet front. If they had adopted this approach, gained some time to advance their research, eventually succeeded in obtaining the technology of nuclear weapons and missiles, and launched surprise attacks against the United States and the Soviet Union using them, then the United States and the Soviet Union would not have been able to defend themselves and would have had to surrender. Little Japan, in particular, made an egregious mistake in launching the sneak strike at Pearl Harbor. This attack did not hit the vital parts of the United States. Instead it dragged the United States into the war, into the ranks of the gravediggers that eventually buried the German and Japanese fascists. Of course, if they had not made these three mistakes and won the war, history would have been written in a different fashion. If that had been the case, China would not be in our hands. Japan might have relocated their capital to China and ruled over China. Afterwards, China and the whole of Asia under Japan’s command would have brought into full play the oriental wisdom, conquered the West ruled by Germany and unified the whole world. This is irrelevant, of course…

…Our Chinese people are wiser than the Germans because, fundamentally, our race is superior to theirs. As a result, we have a longer history, more people, and larger land area. On this basis, our ancestors left us with the two most essential heritages, which are atheism and great unity…

…We also must never forget what Comrade Xiaoping emphasized “refrain from revealing the ambitions and put others off the track.” The hidden message is: we must put up with America; we must conceal our ultimate goals, hide our capabilities and await the opportunity. In this way, our mind is clear. Why have we not updated our national anthem with something peaceful? Why did we not change the anthem’s theme of war? Instead, when revising the Constitution this time, for the first time we clearly specified “March of the Volunteers” is our national anthem. Thus we will understand why we constantly talk loudly about the “Taiwan issue” but not the “American issue.”…

Only by using special means to “clean up” America will we be able to lead the Chinese people there. This is the only choice left for us. This is not a matter of whether we are willing to do it or not. What kind of special means is there available for us to “clean up” America? Conventional weapons such as fighters, canons, missiles and battleships won’t do; neither will highly destructive weapons such as nuclear weapons. We are not as foolish as to want to perish together with America by using nuclear weapons, despite the fact that we have been exclaiming that we will have the Taiwan issue resolved at whatever cost. Only by using non-destructive weapons that can kill many people will we be able to reserve America for ourselves

…From a humanitarian perspective, we should issue a warning to the American people and persuade them to leave America and leave the land they have lived in to the Chinese people. Or at least they should leave half of the United States to be China’s colony, because America was first discovered by the Chinese. But would this work? If this strategy does not work, then there is only one choice left to us. That is, use decisive means to “clean up” America, and reserve America for our use in a moment. Our historical experience has proven that as long as we make it happen, nobody in the world can do anything about us. Furthermore, if the United States as the leader is gone, then other enemies have to surrender to us. Biological weapons are unprecedented in their ruthlessness, but if the Americans do not die then the Chinese have to die. If the Chinese people are strapped to the present land, a total societal collapse is bound to take place. According to the computation of the author of Yellow Peril, more than half of the Chinese will die, and that figure would be more than 800 million people! Just after the liberation, our yellow land supported nearly 500 million people, while today the official figure of the population is more than 1.3 billion. This yellow land has reached the limit of its capacity. One day, who knows how soon it will come, the great collapse will occur any time and more than half of the population will have to go. We must prepare ourselves for two scenarios. If our biological weapons succeed in the surprise attack [on the United States, the Chinese people will be able to keep their losses at a minimum in the fight against the United States. If, however, the attack fails and triggers a nuclear retaliation from the United States, China would perhaps suffer a catastrophe in which more than half of its population would perish. That is why we need to be ready with air defense systems for our big and medium-sized cities. Whatever the case may be, we can only move forward fearlessly for the sake of our Party and state and our nation’s future, regardless of the hardships we have to face and the sacrifices we have to make. The population, even if more than half dies, can be reproduced. But if the Party falls, everything is gone, and forever gone! In Chinese history, in the replacement of dynasties, the ruthless have always won and the benevolent have always failed. The most typical example involved Xiang Yu the King of Chu, who, after defeating Liu Bang, failed to continue to chase after him and eliminate his forces, and this leniency resulted in Xiang Yu’s death and Liu’s victory (during the war between Chu and Han, just after the Qin Dynasty (221-206BC) was overthrown). Therefore, we must emphasize the importance of adopting resolute measures. In the future, the two rivals, China and the United States, will eventually meet each other in a narrow road, and our leniency to the Americans will mean cruelty toward the Chinese people. Here some people may want to ask me: what about the several millions of our compatriots in the United States?

It is indeed brutal to kill one or two hundred million Americans. But that is the only path that will secure a Chinese century, a century in which the CCP leads the world. We, as revolutionary humanitarians, do not want deaths. But if history confronts us with a choice between deaths of Chinese and those of Americans, we’d have to pick the latter, as, for us, it is more important to safeguard the lives of the Chinese people and the life of our Party. That is because, after all, we are Chinese and members of the CCP. Since the day we joined the CCP, the Party’s life has always been above all else! History will prove that we made the right choice.

Chaos Is Coming: U.S. To Start Testing People With Flu Symptoms

Brace for chaos: in a few weeks, the next person to sneeze may be arrested quietly pulled aside by the authorities and tested for coronavirus.

People in the US experiencing flu-like symptoms will be screened for the latest coronavirus that originated from China, officials with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced during a briefing on Friday, adding that it will roll out 5 labs, in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Seattle, to screen patients through the ominously sounding “national flu surveillance program”; if that wasn’t bad enough, they also said the program is likely to expand as more confirmed cases are expected in the coming days and weeks.

Justifying the move, CDC officials said that there could be undetected cases of the mysterious illness in communities across the US, as the country experiences a dramatic spike in flu as the season approaches its halfway point.

The agency plans to expand to more cities until it has achieved “national surveillance”.

“They are currently testing for influenza. The idea is they will test the influenza negative specimens,” said Nancy Messonnier, director of the CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases. There are now 15 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the US and more than 600 people remain in quarantine.

Which, of course is a prudent move, if only it weren’t for the fact that tens of millions of Americans are about to get sick as we enter the peak of flu season, and every sneeze or cough will lead to panicked phone calls to the local ER (or police), and potentially in self-imposed quarantine as more and more Americans await an “all clear” signal before life returns back to normal. Alas, with the coronavirus pandemic running rampang in China, this may not happen for many month.

Global cases of the virus have topped 64,000, including hundreds of health workers in China as it battles to contain the virus following its outbreak in Wuhan. In the US, there have been 15th confirmed coronavirus infections while more than 1,300 people have died in China (it would have been even more had China not somehow “double-counted” the dead).

The latest case in the US involves a patient who was among a group of people under a federal quarantine order in Texas following a US government-chartered flight that evacuated US citizens from China earlier this month.

Meanwhile, health officials report 26 million flu infections in the US so far this season, including 14,000 deaths.
